Mark Maher

American photographer Mark Maher has lived in Helsinki since 1996. His education in art history, social anthropology and long distance hitchhiking led to a second career as a writer, most notably of art criticism and social essays.
Maher has produced several books of his artwork including American Polaroids (LIKE Press, 2002) and Meltpoint (LIKE Press, 2008), and exhibits widely, with recent one-person exhibitions in Kuwait, Washington DC, and at the Amos Anderson Museum (Finland).
Mark Maher also works a writer and media artist for the Helsinki-based company TH Satama, where his duties include curating a monthly art exhibition series called ArtSpace.
